Why Taking the Stairs Can Improve Your Health

Greener Me Challenge Day 1:

Take the stairs instead of elevators

We've all been there: rushing to catch an elevator, only to realize that it's out of order. And so we grudgingly make our way up the stairs, panting and sweating as we climb each step.

But for some people, taking the stairs isn't just a last resort. My uncle, who is over 60 years old, climbs a 25-story building every day – just for exercise! And he's not alone. More and more people are recognizing the importance of being healthy, and are choosing to take the stairs instead of the elevator whenever possible.

The benefits of taking the stairs are many. First and foremost, it's a great way to stay fit. Climbing stairs burns calories and strengthens your muscles, especially your legs and glutes. It's also a cardiovascular workout, which means it's good for your heart and lungs. And because it's a weight-bearing exercise, it can help improve your bone density and reduce your risk of osteoporosis.

But the benefits go beyond physical health. Climbing stairs can also boost your mental health. Exercise releases endorphins, which can improve your mood and reduce stress and anxiety. Plus, taking the stairs can give you a sense of accomplishment and boost your confidence – especially if you're able to climb more stairs over time.

Of course, climbing a 25-story building every day is not realistic for most people. But even small changes can make a difference. Climbing just 10 steps a day – whether at home, at work, or in a public building – can help improve your health. And if you're already in good shape, challenge yourself to climb more stairs or take them at a faster pace.

So next time you're faced with a choice between the stairs and the elevator, consider taking the stairs. It may not be the easiest option, but it could be the healthiest one.

C section Huh!? Embracing Cesarean Delivery: A Victory, Not a Failure

C Section Huh!?

C section, huh? When a pregnant woman undergoes a Cesarean delivery to bring her babies into the world, this question that follows is often one of sympathy or shock. This one question can make her feel guilty or embarrassed, stealing away the bliss of motherhood.

For women who hoped for a "natural" childbirth but ended up with a C-section, the experience can be painful and defeating. But it's important to remember that those scars are not marks of inability. You should never feel guilty for not having a natural birth. Instead, those scars are a medal of victory.

Cesarean delivery can be a life-saving procedure for both the mother and the baby. It's a decision that's made with the best interest of both in mind. As a mother, your priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of your child, and if a C-section is what's needed to achieve that, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

It's time to reframe the way we think about Cesarean delivery. Instead of viewing it as a failure or something to be ashamed of, let's embrace it as a victory. It's a brave and courageous decision that prioritizes the safety and health of both the mother and the baby.

Be confident and trust that it was the best thing to do. You have taken such a bold step in accepting C-section instead of putting the baby or yourself in jeopardy, Hats off to your courage and the smart decision.

Busting the Myth: C-Section Recovery Does Not Mean Months of Bed Rest

It's a common myth that after a C-section, a woman must stay in bed for months. In reality, doctors encourage women to get up and walk around as soon as possible after the procedure. They teach mild exercises and provide safe exercise plans that can be continued after the surgery. In fact, people who have had major bypass surgery can start feeling normal the next day. So why can't women who have had C-sections?

You have just battled through a 40-week pregnancy and undergone major surgery to bring your baby into the world. But rest assured, recovery is possible, and you can start feeling normal again within a few days. Seeing your baby's face can give you the willpower to bounce back quickly.

Every woman enters the maternity ward with the hope of having a natural childbirth. However, sometimes unforeseen circumstances may require an emergency C-section. It's important for visitors and friends to avoid commenting on a woman's birth journey and never to undermine her or her doctors.

So let's support and uplift all the brave and resilient women who undergo this procedure and celebrate the miracle of childbirth.

Dear Mothers, A delivery that results in a healthy mother and baby is a gift from God, no matter how that delivery was achieved. So, to all the mothers who underwent Cesarean delivery, know that you are strong, capable, and victorious. Your scars are not a reminder of your inability but a testament to your bravery and resilience. Embrace them, and embrace the beautiful journey of motherhood that lies ahead. Happy Parenting!!!

Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer: Unveiling Concerning Ingredients and Safer Alternatives

When it comes to purchasing lip balm or any beauty products, conducting thorough research on the ingredients is crucial. Recently, during my purchase of Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer, I was taken aback by a warning message on the product that stated, "If swallowed, contact Poison Control Center right away."

Concerns and Further Investigation:
Although it's unlikely that anyone would intentionally consume lip balm, there is a higher possibility of inadvertently ingesting a small amount while drinking water or eating. Naturally, this warning raised concerns for me, prompting me to dig deeper into the ingredients used in the product.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Moisture:
Ingredients: Octinoxate 7.5%, Oxybenzone 4%, Castor (Ricinus Communis) Seed Oil, Corn (Zea Mays) Oil, Ozokerite, Petrolatum, Beeswax, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Paraffin, Stearyl Alcohol, Carnauba (Copernicia Cerifera) Wax, BHT.

Avoiding Harmful Ingredients in Lip Balm:
In any lip balm, it is crucial to avoid certain ingredients. These include:
- Parabens
- Petrolatum or Petroleum
- Chemical Dyes
- Mineral Oil
- Octinoxate
- Oxybenzone
- Avobenzone
- Cinnimate

Analysis and Recommendation:
Upon closer examination, it becomes apparent that Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer contains three potentially harmful ingredients: Octinoxate, Oxybenzone, and Petrolatum. Consequently, it is advisable to avoid using this lip balm due to these concerning additions.

When selecting a lip balm or any beauty product, understanding the ingredients is essential for making informed choices about what we apply on our bodies. In the case of Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer, the presence of certain ingredients raises valid concerns. By being aware of what to avoid, we can make safer choices for our lip care routine.

How much should you drink every day?

How much should you drink every day?

If you type the same in google, you will get 1000 of suggestions. Few will suggest drinking 8 liter of water is only good for health. Few others would suggest, if you drink more water, your kidney will keep functioning and fail soon (WTH!?)
But one thing is clear; drinking 8 liters of water is really dangerous. I feel, an 8-ounce glass is only interpreted as 8 liter of water.

Lack of water may lead to dehydration and excess of water intake may lead to kidney problems. Drinking right amount of water is extremely crucial. There are various factors needs to be considered .Your Age, weight, height and your living location like tropical or cold.
Here is an excellent website from H4H initiative to let you know how much water you should intake in a day. just input your weight, Height, Age, County, Consumption details, and few more details and click on "Set your liquid intake". It will display your accurate water intake

Know your water intake and drink accordingly.  That's a very simple step towards a healthier lifestyle.

Also, Drinking water at a certain time maximizes its effectiveness on the body
(Below information From A Cardiac Specialist!)
  • 2 glasses of water after waking up - Helps activate internal organs
  • 1 glass of water 30 minutes before a meal -Helps digestion
  • 1 glass of water before taking a bath - Helps lower blood pressure
  • 1 glass of water before going to bed - Avoids stroke or heart attack
Happy Drinking!!!
