Vimanam Movie Review : Journey of Love and Sacrifice

I had the privilege of watching Vimanam an emotional rollercoaster this weekend, a film that truly tugged at my heartstrings. The moment I read that it was an emotional film, I knew I was in for a heartfelt experience. But, I found myself continuously shedding tears throughout the movie.

The film revolves around a parent's unwavering determination to fulfill their child's dreams. It's a story that resonates deeply, reminding us of the incredible lengths a parent will go to for the happiness of their children.

This movie is a gem that captures the essence of love, sacrifice, and the enduring bonds of family. It teaches us the value of hard work and honesty, and it reminds us of the lengths parents will go to for their children. I highly recommend this film to anyone in search of a heartfelt and emotionally charged cinematic experience. It's a beautiful tribute to the love between parents and children, and it will stay with you long after the credits roll.

As a parent myself, I found a deep and heartfelt connection to the film, as it took me on an emotional journey that resonated with the unique challenges of parenthood. It's natural for parents to want to fulfill their child's wishes and make their dreams come true. However, it's important to remember that our children's happiness and well-being should never be tied to our own lives. While we should strive to support our children's aspirations, it's crucial to maintain a healthy perspective and prioritize their emotional and physical health above all else. Our love and guidance are the most valuable gifts we can offer, and our children's happiness should never come at the cost of our own lives.

It's not selfish to prioritize our physical and emotional health because, only when we are strong and healthy, we are better equipped to provide the love, guidance, and support your children need to thrive.

Varisi - A Promising Romantic Thriller

 Varisi A Promising Romantic Thriller

Director: Karthik Doss

Cast: Karthik Doss, Sapna Das, Krishnakumar Lakshman, Avis Manoj, Madhumitha, Balaji Rajashekar, Anupama Kumar.

Among all the film genres, thrillers are arguably the most challenging to execute successfully. A thriller must capture and maintain the audience's attention without adhering to a predictable framework. It must also incorporate a romantic subplot and provide a healthy dose of laughter and music to add texture to the film's soul. All these elements must be executed with precision, without compromising the quality of the film's performance and visual presentation.

Karthik Doss’s ‘Varisi’ is an impressive debut film with a mix of laughs, emotions, romance, tech-savvy, mature love, suspense with a social message. It conveys a message that in any kind of worst situation women must stay strong and must move on in life.

The crime thriller film revolves around three distinct characters whose lives intersect in unexpected ways. Arjun (played by Karthik Doss) is a happy-go-lucky guy who shares a beautiful relationship with his girlfriend Akshaya (portrayed by Sapna Das). Krishnakumar Lakshman, a determined CBI officer, is on a mission to solve a recent crime that has taken place in Chennai. Lastly, there's Ganesh, a Facebook addict who creates fake female profiles to chat with strangers.

The film takes a dramatic turn when an unexpected incident occurs, and the three storylines merge into one. The result is an engaging and thrilling narrative that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

Karthik Doss delivers a captivating performance as Arjun, portraying the character's carefree and joyful nature with ease. Sapna Das shines as Akshaya, capturing the essence of her character's innocence and charm. Krishnakumar Lakshman's portrayal of the determined CBI officer adds a layer of intensity and suspense to the story.

The film's plot is masterfully crafted, bringing together the three distinct storylines in a seamless and satisfying way. The audience is left guessing until the very end, as the film's twists and turns keep them engaged and invested in the story.

Refreshingly, when Arjun find the rapist, he does not involve in physical fighting. Rather, along with the help of his friends, he does lot of strategic thinking, uses solid technology and brain work to take revenge. The most perceptive scenes are the conversation between Arjun and the rapist / The rapist and Akshaya. Sensitive portion handle perfectly.

The soundtrack of Varisi has Five tracks and has a good mix of melody, ramp, kuthu and killer tune.

  • Neethane En Kadhale sung by Yazin Nizar & Vandana Srinivasan is strong sense of melody and will blow the mind with its mesmerizing tune. Trust me, this song is too infectious with an eye-catching visuals.
  • "Venpani Salayil" sung by Sathayaprakash creates a vibe and stays in our heart.
  • Seenu's Assaulta, a fast pasted energetic kuthu number comes with an eye-catchy back grounds and a Signature step.
  • The wacky "Mayo" beats by Kavya Ajit is refreshing peppy etched to evoke a feeling of joy.
  • Varisi title track by Seenu gives justice to the movie theme with its heavy beats.

The VFX(Visual effects) team did a great job in Revenge sequence and used flawlessly to convey the technology vision right before our eyes with a great quality. The GPS Tracking, IoT-Door Security sensor is authentically created with top-notch VFX works.

An important takeaway from Varisi film is the verdict for the rape cases. Do the convict

Hanged to death?
or murdered ?
or should they live the lives in peace ?
or should be punished by law/people ?
or we ignore them and we live with an own guilt?

None of the above is given to the convict in this movie. Watch the Varisi movie to know, how the punishment to the rapist was provided by |~actually/Not actually~|? fitting into the boundaries of the law. Does Arjun takes revenge cleverly and escape from the hands of the law? Watch the promising film, Varisi that holds the grip of viewers and the space to keep audience hooked till the end.

The Impact of Inappropriate Scenes: Reflections on 'Thirunaal' and the Influence on Children

"The Impact of Inappropriate Scenes: Reflections on 'Thirunaal' and the Influence on Children"

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to watch the movie "Thirunaal," and I found myself unsettled by a few scenes depicted in the film. One particular scene involves Nayan, who plays the role of a kindergarten teacher. In an attempt to portray herself as a sweet and caring teacher, she offers chocolates to the children as a reward for entering the classroom. To further emphasize her affectionate character, she requests kisses on the cheek from the kids. However, one child ends up kissing Nayan on the lips. This scene left me questioning its implications. Does the child's innocent action suggest attraction towards Nayan at such a young age? Or is it simply viewed as cute when a child goes beyond normal boundaries? Is this a reflection of modernity, or is it purely intended for entertainment purposes?

Personally, I found it difficult to accept a scene that seemingly promotes children engaging in inappropriate dialogue or actions for the sake of comedy or innocence. In an interview, the director defended the scene, stating that it was meant to depict the innocence of children and provide humor. However, if such scenes are intended to be innocent, I am concerned that we may be compromising the true essence of childhood innocence. It is crucial to teach children, both boys and girls, about the concepts of good and bad touch. Unfortunately, the director's portrayal of childhood in this manner is disconcerting.

Consider the potential consequences of such scenes. If a child were to witness this and then be asked to kiss someone, they might imitate the act, assuming it is cute or the way things should be. Children are highly impressionable and often learn from what they see in movies, considering it as inspiration. Regrettably, movies have a negative influence on children in certain instances. I hope that Tamil cinema will eventually stop showcasing children in exaggerated scenes, heroines as Loosu-ponnu, and heroes engaging in smoking and drinking, all while portraying it as admirable or cool.(Idhu la cool background music vera)

If a scene is intended to convey modernization or Western culture, it is important to understand that modernization does not equate to allowing children to spend hours playing video games or enrolling them in numerous extracurricular activities at a very young age.

Additionally, there is another scene in "Thirunaal" where the hero commits an immoral act during his time as a rowdy. Surprisingly, he shows no remorse for his actions in subsequent scenes. A real man would not engage in such behavior, yet it is no surprise that Nayan falls in love with him.

Movies are undoubtedly a form of entertainment, and it is ultimately up to individuals to discern between good and bad influences within a film. One could argue that it is possible to learn positive lessons from movies while disregarding the negative aspects. However, my concern lies with children, as they are not yet mature enough to distinguish between right and wrong. They learn from movies, whether it is about societal values or negative behaviors.

There are numerous commendable films, such as "Appa," which deliver important messages about effective parenting. Unfortunately, there are also movies like "Thirunaal" that fail to uphold these standards.

Manja Pai - Movie Review

Manja Pai - Movie Review

There are "N" number of movies in Tamil cinema, which projects the love/bonding between a mother and son, father and daughter. Here comes a new attempt from the Debutante director Raghavan about the love between Grandpa and his grandson. We miss the grand parenting due to our lifestyle, and the movie “Manja Pai” will definitely makes us to long for Grandparents love.

Plot (From Wiki)
Tamil (Vimal) was raised by his grandfather (Raj Kiran) single handedly in a village and 25 years later the boy is working in an IT company, Chennai staying in an upmarket posh apartment. Tamil meets Karthika (Lakshmi Menon) a medical student at a traffic signal and it is love-at-first-sight for him. He follows her and in no time she reciprocates. Tamil is now selected to go to US in three months and he brings his grandfather to the city to spend quality time before he leaves. The rest of the film is how the old man with a heart of gold creates havoc and nuisance in the life of Tamil, residents of the residential apartment and even in the American consulate!
Review:
It’s a must one time watch movie to understand how we lost our emotions and feelings for our elders. The tolerance level which Vimal shows towards his grandpa is definitely a take away.
Thank god!!! Steve jobs is dead, otherwise he must have got heart attack when Rajkiran thinks MAC as a sandwich maker and keeps it on stove to toast the sandwich.
His behaviour on seeing American flag at the U.S embassy (wondering why Vimal takes him to embassy during his interview)
Of Course, there is no wonder that people who are filled with innocence and pure heart are the ones who suffer a lot.
Thank god.. The climax was not typical Tamil story…

Pros:

  • Rajkiran's Characterization and his acting.
  • Humour quotient and sentiment.

Cons:

  • US Visa approval was so filmy… (what are you trying to say!?)
  • Lakshmi Menon characterization was little realistic but at some places it was over dose. Costumes could have been taken care.
  • Vimal ..Please stop doing the "Software professional" role.
  • The climax was draggy

Verdict:
A must watch movie to understand the emotions and feelings of human beings.. Be it our parents or grand parents

Rating: **** 4/5

Paradesi songs review

This was a guest post by my uncle

Engeyum Eppothum

Engeyum Eppothum
(ANYWHERE ANYTIME)
CHENNAI <-> TRICHY

As the movie title says, in this world everyone is susceptible to anything, at any time either it is an terrific accident or the magical feeling of falling in LOVE.

The movie starts with an bus accident at Villupuram highways coming on opposite direction(one which was started from Chennai -> Trichy and other from Trichy  -> Chennai.)And how the life of people changes up side down after a disastrous accident.

A. R Murugadoss has learnt the success formula, that people prefer Laddu because it is sweet not that is prasad. That's why he delivered a strong message with the mix of Enjoyable Entertainment and Emotions.

The climax looks so realistic, that everyone feels their presence in the highway accident spot.

Thanks to the director, because of this movie people started following traffic rules and reduced the speed !!!
Must watch movie!!! Dont miss it :)

Mr.Perfect - A taught for perfect relationship

I always dreamed my dream boy should passionate sports as I do and be a bookworm as I am. But the movie Mr. Perfect - made me to realise that for a happy relationship, "Marry a person who thinks for you NOT the person who thinks like you(alike)". I doubt whether we can give up our likes, passion and commitments for the guy as Kajal Agarwal does.

Yes, I agree I was a person who does only the things which makes me happy and No compromise for anyone or for anything.
But this movie has taught me that "There's nothing wrong in making a few compromises and adjustments if it's going to make people around you happy"

Ala Modalaindi My Favourite Movie

Movies like Maghadeera, Arya, Orange, Happy days makes one stumble upon Tollywood. And now the romantic comedy movie Ala Modalaindi (a Crazy love story) creates a Positive feel to telugu industry.

The movie stills are Peppy and bubbly which will definitely excite the youngsters to watch. The unique thing about the movie is, it was shot by a female director Nandini Reddy.

The best part of the movie was the cute Mother-son relationship. Nani 's (hero) best friend was his mother that he even tells about his girl friends and his love stories to her.
On the other side, Father-Daughter relationship. A dad who happily sends his daughter to the guy whom she love on the day of marriage for the complete happiness of her daughter.

Two things to learn from the movie,
  • Take the life as it is!!!
  • Mutual understanding in relationships

Inidhu Inidhu - Happy Days

Inidhu Inidhu. . . My First movie in Hyderabad with my sweet friend Nisha. Tamil movies getting released in Hyderabad is "Once in blue Moon". Even you may get hike in your organization, but Tamil movies wont get released in Hyderabad. Since it was a remake of telugu's smash hit movie "Happy Days" we never had second thought. And also its my favourite Prakash Raj’s Duet Movies Production.Instead of going to INOX, the driver took us to IMAX and from there again we reached INOX.

The movie was completely shot in the campus of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. The infrastructure of the college was really fabulous. The movie begins with Sidhu, Tyson, Vimal, Shankar, Madhu, Jiya, Umar and Appu who steps into their college life (oops Same Telugu movie name). Expect Sonia Deepthi (Shravs) everyone is new.

Defintely whoever has enjoyed their college life, this movie would be a treat.Atleast in one of the scenes, you would relate yourself to the movie. "Indhu Inidhu" songs lasts in our mind. Madhu is very beautiful with colorful costumes :)

Paiya Review

Paruthiveeran hero Karti + successful filmmaker Lingusamy = ‘Paiya’.

The story can be just framed in a line "A journey from Bangalroe to Mumbai".

The movie Starts with the Garden City -Bangalore. I agree that the movie revolves around bangalore but is it necessary to cover all bridges,  Malls, Flats and so on :)

First time, Karthi in a charming and handsome role with colorful dresses.Ha ha He dances in teh moview too. Karthi is absolutely fantastic in this movie. Karti must have accepted this movie to bridge the gap of Paruthiveeran.

"Thuli thuli thuli mazhaiyai vanthaley" song lasts in our mind and the picturization of the song was awesome.

First half its full of fun and excitement. But the next half "Bhagavas"

The movie is just one-time watch. But for Kartic, the movie can be watched 100 times.

Angadi Theru - Must Watch Movie..

I am lucky !!! Tats what I realized when I saw "Angadi theru" Movie. Hats off to Vasantha Balan for such a beautiful poetry. . .

The movie was my inspiration to realise that Luxurious car and House is not life. I realised Life is not hanging for salary rise.

I am ashamed of myself for yelling at salesman for not displaying variety of clothes. I Understood the struggle and challenges of salesman whom I meet everyday. I Wont yell at the Salesman From now.
